One Hundred Percent

When an ambitious teenage girl loses a running competition unexpectedly, she starts pushing harder to qualify for English Athletics Open. However, something holds her back to succeed.

One Hundred Percent is a 15-min student short film project for the final project of the MA in Film and TV Production at the University of York. The short film will be produced between June and July 2024 and finished by September 2024.

Ivie is a 15-year-old teenager that knows what she wants. She wants to suceed and be the best in everything, running, school and life. She is ambitious, strong and tries to make her parents proud. As she starts to struggle in life, being used to always reach her goals, she pushes herself to the limits. At an important qualification race she suddenly collapses and is brought to the hospital.

What happened to her? Why did no one realise that something was wrong?

This story is about a girl, that starts to struggle in life, but nobody realises why...

  • she is TIRED
  • she is THURSTY
  • she has to go to TOILET a lot
  • she gets THINNER.

These are the typical symptoms for a Type 1 Diabetes. To get more information on Type 1 Diabetes and its symptoms, head to Diabetes UK.

The aim of this shortfilm is to increase awareness for Type 1 Diabetes symptoms and give confidence for teenagers that are newly diagnosed. It shows that you can achieve your dreams with Type 1 Diabetes if you get proper help. As a not diagnosed T1-Diabetes can be fatal, it is important to increase awareness.
